Nateq was born from a personal struggle—but more importantly, from a mother’s belief that every child deserves to be heard. My mission was never just to build an app, but to create a voice for the voiceless—one that understands their world, speaks their language, and empowers their future. Innovation should always start with empathy and end in impact.

Reem Ali Hasan Alfranji

Reem Ali Hasan Alfranji is a dedicated innovator, mother, and advocate for inclusive education and assistive technology in the Arab world. With a strong background in early childhood development and a deep personal connection to the needs of children with speech and communication challenges, she is the visionary behind Nateq—an Arabic-language speech assistive application that is transforming how non-verbal and speech-delayed children express themselves.

Reem’s journey began from a place of lived experience. After years of trying to find a speech solution that could serve her two sons, she identified a critical gap in the market: most tools were designed for English-speaking users and lacked relevance to Arab culture and daily life. This insight inspired her to build Nateq, a tool that is not only linguistically and culturally appropriate but also designed with empathy, practicality, and accessibility in mind.

Under Reem’s leadership, Nateq has evolved into a powerful voice-output communication platform that supports children with autism, Down syndrome, speech apraxia, and other developmental conditions. Her work was recognized with the Mada Innovation Award in 2023, and she received support from the Mada Innovation Program to further develop and scale the solution across the Arab region and beyond.
