Imene Khanfir

Innovation must begin with listening. ALMOURAFEK was created by understanding the real-life experiences of visually impaired individuals—not just through data, but through empathy. My goal is to build technology that adapts to people, not the other way around. Everyone deserves to move through the world safely, confidently, and with dignity.
Imene Khanfir is a passionate innovator and advocate for inclusive technology, specializing in solutions that empower persons with disabilities through artificial intelligence and user-centered design. With a background in computer science and a deep commitment to social impact, Imene is the creator of ALMOURAFEK, a pioneering wearable device designed to enhance mobility and independence for visually impaired individuals.
Her innovation was born out of extensive field research and a desire to address the limitations of traditional mobility aids and current tech-based solutions. Imene’s commitment to accessibility and safety led to the development of ALMOURAFEK, which uses AI-powered scene recognition and real-time feedback to guide users confidently through their environments—without requiring internet access or complex training.
In 2023, her groundbreaking work was recognized with the Mada Innovation Award, and her project received support from the Mada Innovation Program to further develop and scale the solution across Arabic-speaking regions and beyond.
